This Tuesday, November 19, we received the FY20 Exadata Partner of the Year for Spain award in recognition of the different implementations made in recent years and a multitude of databases moved to Exadata, both on premise and in the cloud. Javier Barrio, commercial director of avanttic, was in charge of collecting the award from Javier Torres, Vice President Alliances & Channels, EMEA at Oracle. Torres highlighted 3 characteristics in the trajectory of avanttic that made us deserve the 13th prize in our history: flexibility, growth strategy and digital transformation. This recognition is added to the one received during the last month of September during the last edition of Oracle OpenWorld (San Francisco), in that case in the category IaaS & PaaS en EMEA


Oracle gave us the award in the framework of the Spain Partner Executive Forum, held in the Florida Retiro space (Madrid). Oracle dedicates this annual meeting to share with the partner channel its strategy for the new fiscal year, as well as the most significant developments presented during Oracle OpenWorld. Leopoldo Boado, Country Manager Iberia and SVP Applications Europe at Oracle, summed up the new strategy as a change of attitude towards the past, starting with the new look and feel of Oracle’s corporate image, much more committed to the environment and betting on a greater humility and closeness with the client. He also praised the partner community, highlighting the great synergy between them and Oracle to achieve new challenges and obtain successful results. The 3 axes on which the Oracle strategy for this FY20 focuses are:

  • OCI (Oracle Cloud Infraestructure)
  • Autonomous
  • Applications/SaaS

For his part, Javier Torres, Vice President Alliances & Channels, EMEA at Oracle highlighted Oracle’s alliance and channel strategy, announcing the new OPN program (Oracle Partner Store) that will improve the relationship between the manufacturer and its partner ecosystem, offering many innovations to focus efforts on the collaborative objective based on Build, Sell and Service.

It was Javier Torres himself who presented the prize to Javier Barrio, Avanttic Commercial Director.

Before the awards ceremony, a series of presentations were made by several Oracle partners. The first to take the stage was the General Director of avanttic, Jesús García, who focused his speech on the close relationship that has existed between Oracle and avanttic in our ten years of life. A relationship that has always been based on the concept of “adding”, which goes beyond “win-win.”


Jesus also wanted to highlight that there are already 3 awards that we have received related to the cloud(Worldwide 2018 PaaSSpain 2019 IaaS&PaaS and EMEA 2019 IaaS&PaaS),, which corroborate the large number of cloud projects carried out by avanttic and the speed that is taking the Oracle Cloud implementation by customers.

Finally, he valued the image change and the new Oracle mission, focused on helping people around the data. An important change that from avanttic we have received very positively, since we consider that only companies and brands with a higher purpose will be able to survive in the market; the rest will not have the support of consumers, who want companies to help improve the world, nor that of employees, who want to feel identified and linked to the mission of their company.
